| Need a gift idea? Give a Charity Pot! Lush Cosmetics has chosen the Mona Foundation as one of the beneficiaries of its Charity Pot sales in Spain. Up to April 2010, every penny you pay for the cream (excluding VAT) will be given to our rescue center. What is Charity Pot? It is a hydrating cream made from ultra-softening, fair-traded cocoa butter and almond oil. One of the basic values of the company is to not test cosmetics on animals and they devote lots of time and money to raising awareness and cooperating with associations across the world that defend animal protection. Among other things, they have changed their soap base for a pound of palm oil in an attempt to contribute to decrease deforestation, which is impinging upon the habitat of orangutans. RECYCLE YOUR MOBILE PHONE A couple of years ago, we began a campaign to collect and recycle mobile phones. These phones, which we all have stashed away in drawers around the house, may be transformed into help for Mona primates, since each recycled mobile will be exchanged for a donation. And that is not all: our action will have a broader repercussion. By recycling our old mobiles, we will be contributing to the re-use of coltan, an alloy used in the batteries of these devices and other electrical appliances, which is obtained by mining in areas inhabited by mountain gorillas. In recent years, the demand for coltan has drastically reduced the habitat of these severely endangered primates. So, if you or your friends have a mobile lying around the house, you can bring it to Mona, where we will be happy to collect them. You may also send it free of charge by using this label |
