AFRICA (Born free in 1999 / arrived in MONA in 2009) In the past........Brought illegally from Africa on a boat. Purchased by a family with whom she lived 10 years. Strong points …..Stubborn and with a strong character (features expected in a chimpanzee). Vivacious, very nimble, fast, and silent in her movements. Weak points....Defective teeth due to an unsuitable, deficient diet. Skin problems and baldness of unknown origin, possibly because of inadequate treatments in the past. Very humanized, thus has difficulty in relating to the other chimps. Loves to.... eat bread, flavored yogurt, and tropical fruits, with the exception of the ones she does not know. |
